Chendil Kumar (Founder):A Civil Engineer by training and a trainer by choice, CK brings over 20 years of experience in industrial marketing. He honed his facilitation skills while working in unison with his friend and mentor, Dr DVR Seshadri, a renowned faculty member at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bangalore. Proud to be a Smedz !

Francis Gama (Founder):I happen to spend the greater portion of my time with people. What fascinates me about people is the amazing potential that lies unseen and untapped. As I move along life, I hope to trigger and tap those fonts of potential that we may bloom into fullness.

Pramod Shankar(Founder):Writer, dreamer, loafer... I've been called many names. And these keep changing. Like father, drinking buddy, coach, husband... and occassional dancer too.

I work in advertising and training. I love to ride my bike, write my blog, walk in the drizzle, curl up with a book, watch the ice melt in the vodka. Smedley's is like a child to me... and it's great fun watching this child grow. It takes a good human  being to be a great speaker; and at Smedleys, we have both of these in abundance.

Latha R :A project manager by profession, I aspire to become a Public speaker, Leader and singer.

Alam :I always admired great speakers and always wanted to acquire some of their abilities. Joining Smedleys is working as a great catalyst in that direction. We have so many great speakers in ourClub and learning from them is real treat. I like reading and watching movies. I am Red belt in Taekwando so Smedz please beware!

Shankar Dev : Listener, Thinker and a lot more..... :)

Alex : I had a rebirth in Oct 2008, when I decided to join Smedleys Speakers' Society. My death was due to the fear of public speaking and the lack of courage to follow my dreams and aspirations. After having served as a President of both Community and Corporate clubs, I am now destined to be a Toastmaster for life!

Vijay Jain :Public speaking was a terror until I joined Smedleys speakers’ society. At Smedleys you are sure to be transformed from ordinary to extra-ordinary. I think it is my privilege to be a part of this club.

Archana : A nature lover, a wannabe wildlife photographer, a movie freak and an avid reader, I dream of owning

a small library in a quaint little town by the ocean some day. Figured out very early in life that I can’t

sing or dance to save my life, but Speak, now that came a little more naturally. I can already see Toastmasters playing a very vital role in my life by not only helping me in

becoming a better speaker, but also a better human-being!

Aseem : Young at heart middle aged cool character who lives by the philosophy - 'Fail to Win'. Carries a formal persona even in informal settings! Dreams of a social world order where everyone has equal opportunities, facilities and resources to grow and live their lives. An avid badminton player, a born

bathroom singer and a budding public speaker, we present to you Toastmaster Aseem Purohit

Bhavana : I realised after joining Smedleys that the biggest changes in life can happen with smallest of triggers.A shy natured HR Professional that I was, I discovered I had more sides to me than one after joining the Club. Singing, dancing, travelling and trying to get witty (by the way, Aristotle defines Wit as 'Educated Lunacy') with my speeches have been my recent interests. 3 Cheers to SSS!

Gauri :I never knew fun & learning could go hand in hand but realized soon enough that’s what Toastmasters is all about. Environmental Consultant by profession and now a Toastmaster by passion. Mentors & friends are what Smedley members have come to mean to me. Proud to be part of the Best Toastmasters Club in B’lore!

Jose :Jose is a happy sailor on the ship called "Smedleys", sailing along with other intelligent & fun-loving sailors, and is grateful to the senior sailors who help him navigate the vast ocean of speaking opportunities. He loves painting, cartooning, photography, theatre, poetry, shortstories, travelling, organizing art events etc “

Prasanna : Stage Fear effectively crept into my system without me even knowing it until one day I had to go up a stage to do a presentation.  A thousand eyes pierced me with their judgmental attitudes (so I thought). Legs wanted to go home as they couldn’t deal with the pressure; Blood drained my face and I punched the board a good number of times for forgetting my lines. That was Failure in its Final Incarnation fully dressed up for the Occasion - a disaster I never recovered from for years until.Afterwords:That’s right. Smedleys came to my aid and now I can sleep well at night.Prologue:That was just the first step and an infinitesimally smaller step in the never ending journey for bettering one’s self through Smedleys. Smedleys also has the right audience, right attitude and is the best way to find like-minded people to share your thoughts and, to simply put, find friends.

Suraj My name is Suraj Raj kumar and they call me SRK for short. Who the “they”, are I do not know. After working in Dubai for 12 years, I decided to start my own business in India called “MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS” and believe me, its flourishing. I started my journey in Toastmasters with knocking knees and today still have knocking knees, it’s a problem with my knees actually.I joined Smedleys after attending just 2 meetings. It’s the members who unknowing encouraged me to join the club. Smedleys is a vibrant club with very talented, dedicated members and leaders. Great club to be in.

Sushil :Although my first name is Sushil people refer to me more as "Bala". I have always wanted to be  able to speak freely in front of a large audience. Remember that famous Elvis Presley dance move immortalized by the movie Forrest Gump. I could pull off that move on stage out of nervousness while  taking part in public speaking competitions as a kid. Well now I’m learning to avoid the Elvis moves and still impress an audience like Elvis. My theory to life is "Do what you love, Love what you do". My dream is to help people chase their passions in a realistic manner and help them achieve it. Life is full of opportunities. Nothing comes easy. Patience is a virtue. I believe that no one but yourself can turn out to be an obstacle to your ambitions. I would like to share a famous quote by Dr. Abdul Kalam which I draw inspiration from : Ä dream is not what you see in your sleep, it is that which prevents you from sleeping"

Vivek Diwakar :"A Cool hearted evolving person who believes in life and luck". A Software Engineer not by choice but enjoying it. I am a passionate cricket player. I also like to have a long drive on the bike. I am associated with the club for a year now. The good time which I can spend on the Sunday morning meeting people here with varied thoughts is really good part of being with Smedley’s.

Vivek John :I am a keralite who is settled in Bangalore.I am currently pursuing my B.E degree in computer science from MVIT.

My interest include playing football, cartooning and trekking.I joined the smedleys toast masters club in the first week of April,2011.ever since my first grade teacher asked me to recite a poem in front of the entire class(which did not go well)i always had the fear of public speaking. In order to conquer this fear and to improve my people skills i have joined this club.I truly believe that Toast Masters is the ideal platform for one to improve his communication skills as the members of this club not only give positive and constructive feedback but also provide a constant source of encouragement for the speaker.
